Understanding the Role of Roof Decking in Roof Replacements by Bergen County Roofers

The roof decking is an important part of every Roofing system/roof replacement, and must be accounted for in the Estimating prior to the job start.

Mattsson Roofing typically includes two (2) sheets of 4' x 8' plywood in every roof replacement estimate we issue. However, if it is clear during the initial inspection that a roof's decking may need more than two sheets, we can adjust our scope of work as necessary to include a greater amount of plywood.

The plywood we install must match the thickness of the existing roof decking (as best as possible).

If we need to install the 2 initial sheets during a job and require additional sheets of plywood to make the decking whole, that carries a change order that is billed and collected with the job's final balance.
